Bluebonnet Trails Community Services opened its doors in 1996 in Round Rock. Today it is the Local Mental Health Authority (LMHA) for 8 counties in Central Texas.
Bluebonnet Trails offers many great programs for the community.
Their early childhood intervention (ECI) program helps children with disabilities or who have delays, from birth to their 3rd birthday. They have programs for children with autism and mental illness.
Bluebonnet Trails also helps adults struggling with drug problems and emotional issues. They serve 30 counties with their outreach, screening, assessment, and referral (OSAR) program for substance abuse treatment.
Bluebonnet Trails is contracted with the state of Texas to make sure families get the help they need – and case management is one of Bluebonnet Trails’ great strengths.
Using a case manager, you can find many great resources in your area and learn ideas that other families have tried. Having a case manager who knows and cares for your family is a huge help. You’ll feel confident knowing your case manager will check up on you at least once a month to make sure all of your services are going well and address any problems you face. Case managers are great sources of answers to your questions or emergencies.
Bluebonnet Trails came into our lives when we felt like all hope for our son with autism was gone. We were considering hospitalization when we didn't know what else to do. But with the help of our case manager at Bluebonnet Trails, some respite, ABA therapy, and time, we were able to find our way.
I was grateful for every visit, every tip, and every shoulder they offered. I knew I wasn't alone and that someone was fighting for our son with us. Their encouragement and help was what kept us going until we could see results in our son.

Healthcare decisions should be based on the needs of patients, not their age. Pediatric patients are treated based on their size. The right dose of medicine is determined using their height and weight. Equipment is sized for their safety and comfort.
