The 2015 Corpus Christi Heart Walk will be held on Saturday October 3rd from 8 am until noon at Whataburger Field located at 734 East Port Avenue in Corpus Christi.
Heart disease kills more women than all forms of cancer combined and congenital heart defects are the leading cause of infant death due to birth defects.
What is the Heart Walk? Glad you asked! The Heart Walk is the American Heart Association's premiere event for raising funds to save lives from this country's #1 and #5 killers - heart disease and stroke. Designed to promote physical activity and heart-healthy living, the Heart Walk creates an environment that's fun and rewarding for the entire family.
The Heart Walk is a 3.1 mile noncompetitive event. It starts outside of Whataburger Field, then takes off toward the Water Gardens and along Shoreline Blvd., eventually returning back to Whataburger Field. There are all kinds of fun booths throughout the concourse. Stay after and visit the CPR tent, the Kids Zone, the Top Walker area, the Food tent, and more! Visit their event page for more information. Their Resources and Tools page provides additional information to help you get started.
Download the Heart Walk mobile app so you can keep track with Heart Walk on the move. Apps for both iPhone and Android are available.
It is free to join the walk – all you have to do is register! What are you waiting for? Put on your walking shoes and start walking!
