There are many opportunities for parents to provide natural occurring activities to help their children learn—and improve—their skills.
Children become adults and live lives of their own choosing. It’s the natural order of things. Parents of children with disabilities need to plan carefully but should be working toward this goal.
A mom wishes her friends wouldn’t see her husband as an especially loving father just because he spends time with his daughter. Much to this mom’s frustration, their daughter’s disability seems to evoke pity and feelings of heroism.
