Children participate in activities that promote self-esteem, encourage self-healing and provide an outlet for unexpressed emotions. The supportive environment helps each child develop healthy coping skills through a variety of grief exercises. The group provides children with the opportunity to receive special attention while learning to cope with loss, whether by death, divorce or separation, deployment, incarceration and other painful transitions.
An adult group for parents and guardians meets at the same time; participation is encouraged but not mandatory.
The next session of Club Courage begins Tuesday, January 24, 2017, and meets each Tuesday through February 28, 2017. Pre-registration is required. Registration begins January 1, 2017.
Immediate help for a child's grief-related needs is also available. Contact the person listed.
