Procedural Safeguards ensure that children with disabilities are provided a free appropriate public education. This workshop will introduce the most prominent rights and responsibilities of children with disabilities and their parents, along with the rights and responsibilities of public agencies. The contents of the IEP workshop is designed to provide parents with practical working knowledge of the contents of an IEP as defined by IDEA. Through the process of writing an IEP, we will learn to set reasonable and measurable learning goals for a child with a disability and to state the individualized services that the school district will provide for that child.
