The tuition for the class is $135. The Down Syndrome Association of Central Texas has some full of partial scholarships available. The application is available at this link: http://www.dsact.org/news/2014/7/21/dsact-scholarship-application .
The class will cover everything that goes into planning and attending an event; budgeting, decorating, teamwork, compromise and healthy relationship expectations (both in-class professionalism and date etiquette). The course will be an exercise in creativity and responsibility – but also FUN!
Students must be able to sit for 20 minutes at a time. Enrollment requires participation in a pre-course orientation meeting for student and family member.
Bring a $25 fee to the instructor to the first class meeting to cover materials and individual cost of ticket to party. Guest tickets will be sold at a later date.
There is no class on November 24th.
For each class, students may be dropped off by the UT Littlefield Café to socialize for 30 minutes with each other and volunteer students from UT. Class is held in the Biomedical Engineering (BME) building across from the Littlefield Café. Families can pick up their student by the café at the end of each class.
