Raising Special Kids RSK

Being a parent is no easy task as there's no instruction manual on parenting, especially parenting children with special needs. Easterseals Central Texas is pleased to be offering Raising Special Kids, an 8-week group program for parents raising children with special needs. In this program, we will address parenting challenges in a safe, private group setting where parents can share their experiences and discover new parenting tools and skills.

Raising Special Kids (RSK) is a group parenting program designed to provide parents of children with special needs a safe space to do the following:

• Directly address the responsibilities and expectations faced by parents raising children with special needs.

• Focus on the parents’ emotional experience of raising their child.

• Apply what we know about parenting in general to the special circumstances faced by parents raising children with special needs.

 

Meetings will be held on Monday evenings at 7pm via Zoom.
