Work adjustment training is a vocational rehabilitation (VR) service that can be provided during an eligible client's rehabilitation program to assist them in developing work skills, work habits, and job retention skills required to obtain and maintain employment. DARS contracts with Goodwill–West Texas in order to provide these services.
Goodwill–West Texas provides the training and environment for other contracted services such as job coaching (working one-on-one with the employee at their place of employment in order to know their job responsibilities), job placement (direct job placement in the community by working with the consumer and the employer), and supported employment (for the consumer who is harder to place as their disability makes it harder for them to maintain a job).
