Hope for the Hungry (HH) provides faith based assistance to families in need with coats, school supplies, Christmas gifts and other needs as they arise. Community events include camps, sleepovers and Hope Play Days.
HH believe's that “missions” is not something you do, but is a way of life. “Missions” doesn’t start when you enter a foreign country, but should naturally happen where you are. So, in addition to their international ministries, they have a local ministry in Belton, Texas.
Partnering with local volunteers, mainly UMHB students, HH goes to two different low-income housing areas in Belton. During their weekly outreach, they play games and have a Bible study with the neighborhood kids.
HH has one special event each month, such as Hope Play Days, Sleepovers, and Campouts. HH also attends the annual Easter Pageant at UMHB, where everyone can see the story of Jesus with their own eyes.
HH not only focuses on playing, but on building relationships and meeting the families where they are. They believe that their ministry is not just with the children, but to the whole family. To implement this, they assist the parents with various needs for their families, such as school supplies, warm coats, Christmas gifts, and other needs as they arise.
