Infant and Family Nutrition Agency (IFNA) started as a ministry of First United Methodist Church of Brownsville. The goal of the organization is to provide free bilingual education and peer counseling on prenatal health and nutrition, breastfeeding, infant/toddler nutrition and family nutrition, and encourage our community to become involved in making healthy choices for themselves and their children.
IFNA offers classes at community clinics, local hospitals, schools, and sites throughout Southern Cameron County. The Stork's Nest Breastfeeding Center has breast pumps for rent or purchase.
New mothers can also receive assistance and information by calling the Breastfeeding Helpline at (956) 561-MILK (6455).
