We Care! A homeless prevention program providing emergency financial assistance to people living with HIV/AIDS and their families.
Housing / Financial Case Management including Housing Opportunities for People With AIDS (HOPWA) Federal, state and city programs that provide rental, mortgage and utility assistance, case management and support services to people living with HIV/AIDS.
Case Management / Social Services is intensive one-on-one case management services that seek to unravel the barreirs that clients may have developed to obtaining a stable and healthy life. Barriers such as depression, bipolar disease and substance abuse often prevent people with HIV from adhering to their treatment regimens. These highly qualified case managers work together with clients to remove these barriers and obtain security.
Caring Through Education (Border AIDS Project) An HIV infected and affected speakers' bureau that provides HIV primary prevention. AIDS education and awareness for regional school districts, community organizations and religious groups.
Treatment Education / Peer Education (Border AIDS Project) A peer staffed treatment education program for HIV Positive individuals and their families. Computer access and internet training are available for people living with HIV/AIDS, their families, and medical and educational professionals. Support groups and informational forums in adherence issues and side effects are offered. IAE regularly sponsors educational workshops and social functions.
Substance Abuse / Mental Health Support Groups This is a collaborative program between IAE, Family Services of El paso and the Recovery Alliance to provide both one-on-one and group interventions to address issues of substance abuse (alcohol and/or drugs) and mental health (depression, peer support)
Food Pantry: Providing nutritionally balanced groceries for people living with HIV/AIDS and their families.
Pets Are Wonderful Support (PAWS) A program that allows people living with HIV to own companion animals. IAE pays adoption fees, annual veternarian exams and avaccinations, grooming, food and when necessary volunteers to walk dogs.
Retention in Care: The retention in Care program aims to keep individuals who are are HIV+ continued in available services through a partnership with our community partners.
Accessible Resources in Action (ARIA) Advocacy for obtaining and mantaining employment and educational goals. The program supports individuals to achieve stability and becoming economically independent. ARIA works with individuals on a more personal level and focuses on developing relations with employers, school and training instiutes.
OUTRight is a service provided aimed at LGBT youth. This program outreaches to the community via lecutres, support groups, game nights, etc.
