HCDE provides educational services that support more than 160,000 students in 25 school districts all across Harris county, with several schools dedicated to special needs students and preschools for low-income families. These schools prepare students to return to their home schools to be successful and ultimately graduate with their classmates.
HCDE also facilitates regional after-school programs and provides more than 50% of a ll special education therapy in the county, and also have the largest adult education program in Texas. HCDE offers other essential services like educator workshops, safety audits, teacher and principal certification classes, and much more.
