Community support is essential for all of us who have children with disabilities or special health-care needs. None of us can do it alone – no matter if our child is very young or an adult. Support comes in many different ways. It could be a friend who lets you talk about your stress over coffee, a fun camp for your child, a respite care provider who gives you much-needed time off, or a nonprofit that gives you a grant for education or equipment.
We want to help you find support in your local area.
We’ve worked with a number of community partners to set up regional pages for each area of Texas. These pages offer many support tools, which include groups for parents, groups for people with disabilities, events, and services. Take a look at this map to find your region and then come back to visit, because we will be updating it regularly.
We’ve also put together searchable lists of local programs and groups. You can find services like training programs, summer camps, respite care providers, and other support organizations. This section also has online groups, local groups, disability-specific groups, groups for children, and groups for parents. And we even have lists of local events such as fundraising walks, conferences, camps, and general social opportunities. Enter your ZIP code above so you can find help that is near you.
