Navigate Life Texas: Resources for kids with disabilities and special needs
Early Head Start provides comprehensive child and family development services for low-income families with infants and toddlers ages 6 months to three years. Early Head Start provides early, continuous, intensive, and comprehensive child development and family support services on a year-round basis. The purpose of the program is to enhance children's physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development for school readiness; to support parents' efforts to fulfill their parental roles; and to help parents move toward self-sufficiency. AVANCE-San Antonio offers a two-option program for children and their families consisting of home-based option and center-based option, providing services at licensed childhood development centers. At all times, Early Head Start serves at least 10% of children with disabilities.
