The Behavior Health support group is for people who have blindness or low vision, and for their families and/or caregivers. This group meets each Friday from 10-11:30AM, and covers various mental health topics adapted to those with vision loss. They also provide a network of support for people who otherwise would feel isolated and alone. We discuss the grief process of adjustment to blindness, and group members offer tips and encouragement from their own experiences to those who are newly blind. It is a wonderful “first step” for a person who has lost his/her vision.
Our Diabetes Support Group is held the first Wednesday of every month from 11AM-12PM. This group focuses on various health topics related to diabetes.
