Al Amin Shriners is a part of Shriners International which supports Shriners Hospitals for Children in 22 facilities across the United States, Canada and Mexico. The hospitals provide specialty pediatric care for children with orthopedic conditions such as spinal cord injuries, burns, cleft lip and palate regardless of families ability to pay. There are two Shriners Hospitals for Children, one in Houston and one in Galveston. There is also one in Shreveport, Louisana. Al Amin Temple is responsible for the transportation of clients from the Rio Grande Valley, Corpus Christi and Victoria Texas and has outpatient clinics in Rio Grande Valley.
Shriners International teamed up with actor RJ Mitte (diagnosed with cerebral palsey) to create a program for bullying of children called "CutTheBullNow". Children with physical disabilities are twice as likely to be bullied, impacting their educational, emotional and physical development. Find out more information at: http://www.CutTheBullNow.org
