The Alamo Head Injury Association (AHIA) includes survivors of brain injuries, their parents and spouses, other family members and friends and professionals in the San Antonio area. AHIA helps survivors and families cope with the changes in their lives and also provide a forum for networking, identifying resources and providing education about the recovery process. The Association organizes regular meetings, provides and disseminates resource information, maintains a comprehensive brain injury library and and visits survivors and family members in hospitals to provide timely information. AHIA strives to increase public awareness about: brain injury prevention, challenges of recovery need, of families as well as the needs of survivors.
