ALICE VOLUNTEER SERVICES, ALICE FOOD PANTRY, and TRASH & TREASURE are all run efficiently by volunteers from various churches in Alice. Our mission has changed since 1983. According to the Food Bank in Corpus, food pantries are no longer emergency aid only. It is becoming more difficult, with our aging population, for them to make ends meet. Large amounts of grandparents, whose children work, have their grand children staying with them during the summer months. It’s extremely difficult for these elderly clients to feed others. We give assistance every 90 days. Our funding comes from FEMA grants, donations from churches and individuals, and receipts from Trash and Treasure.
