National Ambucs is a non-profit organization that promotes abilities to children. Chidren with disabilities are provided the opportunity to ride bikes.
Riding a bike called an Amtryke. These bikes help children improve motor skills, provide strength training, are fun to ride and offer the opportunity for inclusive play. They also provide a new form of mobility, exercise, and freedom to explore the community.
The primary focus of each chapter of Ambucs is to organize fundraisers in order to raise money to purchase Amtrykes which are then donated on a first come first serve basis to applicants on the wait list at no cost to the family.
The Austin chapter (Capital City Ambucs) of National American Business Clubs AMBUCS TM, Inc. is dedicated to creating mobility and independence for people with disabilities. The members accomplish this by performing community service and providing AmTryke therapeutic tricycles . They meet on the 1st Monday of every month, 7:00 pm at Cherrywood Coffeehouse 1400 E. 38 1/2 Street Austin, Texas 78722.
