The Nurtured Heart Approach™ parenting classes teach families how to discipline children without squashing their spirits. Workshops equip parents and educators with practical knowledge and effective solutions. Staff gather information about concerns then help identify and teach how to use practical, effective strategies with children.
The Social Thinking Groups help students learn to relate to peers, as well as function better at school. Groups are available for children, teens, young adults, and mature adults. Groups are formed based on age/grade, needs, and personalities. Additional groups are formed as soon as similar applicants are identified. Most groups meet for 45 minutes on a weekly basis. Occasionally, groups meet in the community to practice their newly developing skills in other settings. This helps to generalize skills to home, schools, jobs, and the community.
Tutoring services in reading, handwriting, and math are also provided.
