Programs that are offered: River of Hope is a Benevolence program helping those who need assistance with rent and/or utilities for those who live in the BISD area. DREAM PANTRY Household members have the opportunity to choose from a "My Plate List" of available items in the Pantry. Families may select items according to their family size instead of a prepared bag of food items.
ELAINE'S BOUTIQUE Individuals have the opportunity to choose from a list of available items throughout Elaine's Boutique. Which includes a shopping list of personal care products, cleaning supplies, and essential household items.
They hold several COMMUNITY FOOD & RESOURCE FAIRS throughout the year. Learn about a wide range of free or affordable social services in our area that can benefit your family. Along with the resources, every family will take home a bag of food that is provided by the Houston Food Bank.
It will run alongside our Back 2 School Bash Program, Providing school age children who live in Brazoria County with the items they will need to start school. They are provided with free backpacks filled with school supplies, new tennis shoes, haircuts, Gym Pack which contains personal care items, and a Buddy Pak that contains lunch items.
Coats 4 Kids Program, Provides school age children with coats or jackets, new blankets, and haircuts and Dream Gifts Program, Providing gifts and wrapping paper to families with children age infant - 15 years old living in Brazoria County. Registration occurs the first week in December for those who have had a life crisis that prevents the parents or guardians from providing gifts for their children.
They also offer the BACKPACK BUDDIES Program, it provides backpacks throughout the school year with nutritional food and snacks to children who might otherwise not have adequate food over the weekend. The program is based on referrals from the school personnel. The school's teachers, school counselors, or nurse identifies the children in need of assistance. BACK 2 BASIC CLASSES providefree classes, 6 weeks in duration, to improve educational and basic life skills and other resources to enhance individuals potential to succeed.
