The Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office, Creating Awareness & Responding to Emergencies Safely (C.A.R.E.S.) program is designed for parents, care givers, and loved ones to submit valuable and pertinent information to a confidential database available to law enforcement and other first responders, preparing them to proactively respond to crisis situations. The program is being implemented to assist residents in our community with Autism, Down Syndrome, IDD, schizophrenia, Alzheimer’s, dementia, and other disabilities stay as safe as possible in emergencies.
Just a couple examples of how the information provided will assist law enforcement include matching the location and physical features of a wandering, nonverbal individual with BCSO C.A.R.E.S. entries for possible identification and specific, individualized de-escalation techniques for a first responder to utilize when responding to an emergency.
Enrollment is quick and easy. Loved ones can complete the online form below and your entries will be entered in to our secure and confidential database.
For more information, or to update a previously submitted form, or to withdraw from the program email us here.
