In January 2005, the Burleson County Commissioner’s Court created the Burleson County Health Resource Commission with the aim of improving the county’s overall health status by enhancing the access of needed services to Burleson county residents. Overseen by the Health Resource Commission, the Burleson Health Resource Center provides information and referral services, advocacy on behalf of county residents with special needs, and coordination of delivery of direct services. The BHRC works in close collaboration with state, local, non-profit, and faith-based organizations throughout the Brazos Valley and beyond, as well as in partnership with local churches and civic-minded organizations. With offices in Caldwell and Somerville, the BHRC is assisting clients throughout Burleson county, taking the approach that people are often faced with complex challenges that require a comprehensive, problem-solving response. BHRC staff are committed to providing the level of support needed to assist clients in looking beyond short-term fixes toward sustainable solutions.
