The CSHCN Services Program provides helps with medical and dental health care to children under age 21 (or any age with cystic fibrosis). The program also helps with mental health, vision care, special medical equipment and supplies, family support services, community services, insurance premiums, travel to health care visits, and case management.
This program is available to anyone who lives in Texas, is under age 21 (or any age with cystic fibrosis), has an income level at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty level, and a medical condition that is expected to last at least one year that will limit one or more major life activities and requires a higher level of healthcare with physical symptoms. The CSHCN Services Program does not cover clients with only a mental, behavioral, or emotional condition or delay in development.
Focused on family-centered and community-based strategies, the program ensures families get the services that honor and respect their cultural beliefs, traditions, and values.
