In the first two months of operation, CPATH received 70 pieces of durable medical equipment and almost 40% (27 pieces) have been re-homed.
The first donation was received on March 6, 2019. That same piece was the first to find a new home on March 25th to a little boy in the Temple area who could not ride the bus with his current chair and was months away from receiving any new equipment from insurance.
The donations have spanned from Central Texas and into Houston and Dallas – both to families that relocated from Puerto Rico due to Hurricane Maria.
In 2 short months, the total Impact has exceeded $64,000 in medically necessary durable medical equipment donated back to the community!
The new equipment closet program has greatly impacted many families not only in Central Texas, but far beyond central operations. CPATH is beyond thrilled that this can impact so many lives, increase mobility and independence, and help increase the quality of life for so many children and families living with cerebral palsy!
Check online to see what is currently available. You can find everything from feeding bags to wheelchairs, and everything in between. If you have extra medical items at your home, you can donate to the closet as well.
