The Diabetes Self-Management Education Classes are offered as a full day class, a series of four weekly classes or over three months. The classes are taught in either English or Spanish. Topics include: what is diabetes?, blood glucose monitoring, carbohydrate counting, meal planning, how to read food labels, medication and insulin administration, preventing diabetes complications, exercise. Register online or call the number listed. Cost is a one-time fee of $25 per participant and $10 per guest which includes the class, lunch during full day class and enrollment in a year long follow-up program.
