The Harker Heights Ability Sports program provides recreational opportunities for youth and young adults with intellectual disabilities. It was established in 2010 as an extension of the City of Harker Heights’ Paralympic Sports program. They are an all-inclusive program for children between the ages of 5 and 22. Their participant’s disabilities range from autism and Asperger’s to Downs Syndrome to cerebral palsy. Whether it is through participation, advocacy or coaching, they encourage everyone to get involved!
New ability sports and programs get added throughout the year. Continue to check the website, contact the Recreation Center at 254-953-5657 or in person 307 Miller's Crossing for additional information.
