Lead First is a comprehensive school-wide reform program, primarily for high-poverty schools, with a strong emphasis on early detection and prevention of reading problems before they become serious. The non-profit LEAD First Foundation is the program provider, supplying materials, training, and professional development to schools that adopt the program.
LEAD First provides a Summer Literacy Program to help students with their reading, math, writing, and basketball skills. The program is for 6 weeks during June and July. The camp is open for children 3rd grade until 12th. They also have a basketball clinic to teach basic basketball skills and healthy lifestyle.
