PILLAR was founded in 2010 to service the youth of the community of Laredo and surrounding areas who are victims of bullying, have attempted suicide, or are struggling with suicidal thoughts. PILLAR promotes the health and well-being of people from diverse communities by furthering effective suicide and bullying prevention. They do this through activities and information sharing in order to ensure individual growth, personal success, saving lives and advancing respect for human life. PILLAR provides a safe, nurturing and non-discriminatory environment where people experiencing emotional trauma due to bullying/victimization from others or suicidal ideations can seek supportive services to reduce the negative impact of these circumstances.
PILLAR Services include Community Engagement, Resource Center, Counseling, Crisis Intervention, and Youth Socialization Groups.
