Navigate Life Texas: Resources for kids with disabilities and special needs
This program is an on-campus supervised residential and apartment living experience.To be considered for the program, a person must be 18 years old or older and have a qualifying disability such as a developmental/intellectual disability, autism or Asperger’s syndrome, cerebral palsy, deafness or hearing impairment, or other learning disabilities. Students must be capable of self-help skills and must not present a danger to themselves or others. Services include work and life skills, dormitory residences and apartments, job training center, culinary arts and others. Upon admission, students have a 30-day evaluation period and receive a comprehensive recommendation for services. Training and development plans are customized to fit each student’s ability to achieve success. The length of completion is 12 to 18 months.
