sMiles 4 Sammy focuses on 2 areas. Each year, funds raised at their silent auction and 5K are divided between these 2 areas:
sMiles 4 Families Program – This program provides support and encouragement to families under the care of Pediatric Palliative Care and/or Pediatric Hospice teams. Currently they serve families and medical providers at Dell Children’s, Scott & White, Hospice Austin, The Seton Network of Hospitals, St. David’s Main NICU, Cook Children’s of Ft. Worth and Hermann Memorial Pediatric Hospice of Houston.
Community – Supporting organizations and initiatives in the Central Texas community that allow ALL children to experience life to their fullest potential. In the past they have donated to the Cal Ripken Foundation for the KCCO All Ability Baseball Field in Williamson County and to Joni & Friends Family Summer Camp. They’ve sponsored the Central Texas Ability Sports League, donated goods and funds to the Ronald McDonald House of Austin and passed out goody bags at various races. Each Christmas, they partner with United Airlines, Valero & the American Cancer Society for the annual Flight to The North Pole and the Angel Night for bereaved families at Dell Children’s Hospital.
