The Beaumont Spindletop Rotary Club constructed nine Super Kids cars for use in the SETSBD races. These are specially built two-seat, dual-control derby cars. The cars can be raced by multiple sets of drivers during each event.
SUPER KIDS Division: The Super Kids division is for kids with special needs that cannot race in the other divisions. Racers in this division are paired with a co-pilot (experience driver) from the local race. The co-pilot will have total control of the derby car. Participants must be seven (7) years of age prior to the local race and may not have reached their 19th birthday prior to the national race date ; and not exceed a personal weight of 185. Racers must have a medically diagnosed disability, which a physician is willing to document. Due to the special needs of each child, parents must be responsible for loading and unload their racer from the cars
