In order to receive disability services at Stephen F. Austin State University, there is an application process which can be accessed online. Students should meet with the Director of Disability Services prior to the semester in which accommodations will be requested. The website describes all supporting documents needed to receive services, the accommodations that can be accessed and how to go about receiving them, the responsibilities of faculty, as well as various On Campus resources.
In addition, SFASU offers testing services on its campus for various entrance exams, as well as the TSI Assessment. The TSI Assessment measures your strengths and weaknesses in mathematics and statistics, reading and writing, and is an indicator of how ready you are to handle college-level courses. The results of the assessment, in conjunction with your academic background, goals and interests, are used by academic advisers and counselors to place you in the appropriate course that matches your skill level.
Disability Services is committed to ensuring that all information regarding a student is maintained as confidential as required or permitted by law. Information provided to DS is considered confidential and is not disclosed to a third party without the written permission of the student.
