The Arc of El Paso believes that people with I/DD are defined by their strengths, abilities, and inherent values, and not by their disability. The Arc of El Paso offers job development which helps people with I/DD prepare, find, and keep employment. The Arc has a contract with the Texas Dept. of Assistive & Rehabilitative Services (DARS) to provide job coaching, job placement & supported employment services. In addition, they offer ADVOCACY-working with and on behalf of individuals with I/DD to resolve an issue, obtain a needed support or service or promote a change in the practices, policies and/or behaviors of third parties.
