The Workforce Solutions, Child Care Scholarships

We understand that finding good, affordable child care for working parents or those attending school or looking for better jobs can be challenging. Workforce Solutions is interested in helping these families by providing child care financial aid for those who qualify.

Eligibility for child care assistance is based on the citizenship or legal residency status of the children, not the adults in the household.

Workforce Solutions provides child care financial assistance for parents who are looking for work, working, and/or going to school.

To check the status of an application, call 713-334-5980 or 1 (888) 600-5936 from Monday - Friday between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm.

Goal is to promote long-term self-sufficiency by enabling parents to work or attend education activities.
This program strives to educate parents about the availability of quality child care, enhance children’s early learning, and support early learning programs working to improve the quality of child care scholarships.

Parents applying for child care scholarship for their children (up to age 19 if they have a disability) may be added to a waiting list, if funds are limited. When we have a waiting list, the wait time for childcare financial aid averages 6-9 months.
