Now called Peaceable Kingdom by Variety (PK), our accessible retreat in Killeen, TX, is a beloved haven for thousands of children exploring their self-reliance and mobility each year. Because healing, growth and insight can be found in nature and outdoor adventure, we’ve tailored PK's gorgeous 122-acres to accommodate all campers’ and Central Texas students' needs. At PK, children make new friends, learn new things and make new memories they carry with they forever.The Heart of Variety Direct Assistance Program (HOV) supports Texas kids by funding equipment or services related to a clinical diagnosis. This might include critical therapies, durable medical equipment, life-saving medical procedures or unique experiences for children with physical, emotional and/or mental challenges, disorders and differences.Families apply for assistance through the application which is vetted by a committee that considers family income, illness and/or disability, medical and other treatment and treatment recommendations from the child’s doctors or treatment team.  Funding is provided to Variety’s expanding network of medical professionals, therapists and vendors rather than to individual applicants.
