This summer, get out of the heat and make plans to attend the Abilities EXPO at NRG Center (Formerly Reliant Center). You will find products and services for children and adults with disabilities. Be sure to bring the kids, because there will be fun for all.
You may want to play some adaptive sports, or even learn some new dance moves. You will find exhibits with the latest assistive technology, assistance dogs, and therapy horses. There will be face painting for kids, helpful workshops, and more.
Workshop topics offered include sessions on travel and home modifications. You will also find sessions on finance, dating, physical therapy for kids, and so much more.
The Abilities EXPO provides a variety of products and services to help meet your individual needs. There really is something for everyone. The Assistive Technology Showcase lets you test drive the latest devices. Also available are clever, low-cost inventions and retail products.
I don’t know about you, but I always like to do a little shopping while at the EXPO. Here you will find all kinds of things that you can’t always find in your average stores. At the Artist Market, you will be able to buy artwork from, and meet great artists who, also happen to have a disability.
American Sign Language interpretation services will be available at Abilities Expo.

Have fun, and stay cool this summer!
