Any Baby Can of San Antonio Meets the Needs of Children and Families

Any Baby Can (ABC) helps families.  Marian Sokol, PhD, started Any Baby Can in San Antonio in 1982.  She saw that families needed help with case management, support and information.  Any Baby Can started from that simple beginning.  As they grew, they added two new locations in Kerrville and New Braunfels. 

Any Baby Can serves children from birth through age 17.  Their programs are free of charge to families of children who qualify.  They strive to meet the needs of the families they serve. 

ABC’s goal is to meet family needs in all areas of their lives.  Their case management program helps to link families to Any Baby Can programs.  They can also help a family apply for other programs.  Caseworkers are licensed Social Workers.  Families must live in Bexar County or one of the surrounding 18 counties.  A full list of services can be accessed here.

Their autism program offers services for children with autism and their families, including support groups and counseling.  Classes on autism topics teach families skills to make life better for their child with autism.  There are also classes on safety at home and in the community.  Classes on potty training, working with behaviors, visual supports and others are also offered.  Any Baby Can’s Autism Resource Guide is free to download.  

Parents, siblings, grandparents and others sometimes need to talk through their problems.  Any Baby Can, with the help of Our Lady of the Lake University, offers counseling services.  These services are for individuals, groups or married couples.  These short-term counseling services can help families through hard times. 

The Center for Infant and Child Loss helps families who experience the tragic loss of their infant or young child.  Help may include assisting with funeral costs, individual or family counseling, grief support brochures and a yearly memorial service. 

Any Baby Can’s Prescription Assistance Program may help families find sources for their medications.  Families can apply for free or low cost medication if they qualify.
