More children are being diagnosed with autism. The need for services is growing. Parents often struggle when trying to connect with those services. Calling phone number after phone number can be tiring. Hearing the word “no” is frustrating. Parents need help!
One new group in San Antonio hopes to give that help.
Autism Lifeline Links (ALL) provides a streamlined way for individuals with autism and their families to access services.
Here is how it works:
ALL is a group of local providers and agencies that collaborate to provide the care. ALL referral agencies include some of the most effective in the San Antonio area. This is a type of wrap-around care.
Individuals and families can sign up online at https://autismlifelinelinks.org?Get-Help-Get-Involved#tab_register. The registration is Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) secured.
ALL’s approach to care coordination reduces stress on parents. The hours of searching for help for their children is reduced. They can focus more on parenting and less on case management. Their kids reap the benefits of receiving greatly needed services.
Autism Lifeline Links is showing us how working together can make huge changes. Each of the involved groups does important work in the community. They each bring strengths that can be shared. The winners are kids and families.
Hopefully, this new collaboration model will be replicated throughout Texas and the country.
Use the Find Services, Groups and Events search to locate other autism services in your area.
A few years before my son George graduated from high school, our family discovered a Special Olympics program called FUNdamental Sports.
