Mosasaur All Abilities Playground

For too long, children with disabilities have watched from the sidelines as their peers have played. They’ve faced barriers — both physical and social — that have limited their ability to enjoy some of the most fundamental joys of childhood: swinging on a swing, sliding down a slide, or simply running around with friends. But change is afoot, and Southeast Metro Park is leading the charge in making play inclusive for all.

The brand new playground can be tricky to find. When you enter the park, take your first right. Then follow the road allllll the way down (it’s a very long road) til it ends. You will begin to wonder if you are on the right road. You are. The playground is down by some walking paths and there’s a parking lot and a bathroom nearby. Good luck using that bathroom though, unless you’re a fan of spiders.

The newly installed all-inclusive playground equipment at Southeast Metro Park is a testament to the commitment of the local community, park officials, and numerous advocacy groups to ensure that no child feels left out. This revamped space has been carefully designed to be both functional and fun, ensuring that kids of all abilities have a chance to play, learn, and grow together.
